Nirav Thakkar is a board-certified Physician in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine living and working in Brevard County.  He is part of Medical Associates of Brevard (MAB) and currently practices as a Geriatric Medicine Consultant, providing care at local hospitals including Holmes Regional Medical Center and Palm Bay Hospital, amongst other facilities.  

Originally from Mumbai, India, Dr. Thakkar moved to the United States in 2005. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York, followed by a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York.

Before relocating to Florida in 2021, Nirav held several leadership positions within the NH-UVA Hospital System in Northern Virginia, including serving as Chairman of the Department of Medicine.

Nirav lives in Brevard County with his wife, Arpi, and their two children, Aryan and Niya, and is proud to serve and be part of the local community. As a candidate for BIMDA Secretary, he hopes to bring strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering communication and engagement within the association.
